Plastic Stereo Card Viewer (Lorgnette)
AO Viewer Owl Lite 3D Lorgnette
NSA (National Stereo Association) members will recognize this as the viewer offered to view the pairs in Stereo World Magazine. This lorgnette can be used to view pairs up to 8 inches wide.
The viewer is made for viewing Holmes cards (the most popular format of stereo prints) and can be used for smaller cards. It is prismatic, made of a high quality plastic and can be used to view the reproduction Holmes cards, and the images in some of the books that we offer. This may be one of the easiest ways to start photographing in 3D. Take pictures using the cha-cha method with an ordinary camera and send the results to family and friends.
Inexpensive enough to share with friends!
The viewer is perfect for sending to friends and family along with your homemade stereo cards.
Flat for easy mailing.
Its light weight and sturdy construction make it perfect for the mail.
Use on computer screens for viewing parallel images.
Many stereo photographers put their images on the web in parallel viewing format for easy viewing with the lorgnette (pronounced lorn-yet). Popular stereo image computer formats offer the option of parallel viewing as it has better color viewing options than anaglyph (red/blue images) due to the absence of color shift.
Great for displays and competitions involving stereo cards.

3D Lorgnette with replaceable lens
Tired of throwing away your 3D Lorgnettes because they are getting grungy. Here is an environmentally sensitive solution, throw away only the lens and not the body or the lorgnette. We offer this solution which works for stereo pairs up to around 6 inches total. This is the kind seen in journals such as the ISU's Stereoscopy and the British Stereoscopy Society Journal.
The viewer also has a hole for adding a chain or other anti-theft device making it ideal for some museum application. We can quote on adding a chain if needed.
The focal length of the lenses are approximately 7 inches.
The Owl Lite is so small, thin and light that it can be slipped into a pocket or worn round the neck with a cord so that it is always at hand.
It can be used to view modern or vintage stereocards, stereo illustrations in books and magazines but also 3-D videos and even VR content on your smartphone. We also offer it with steampunk styling.
