VAWT video
Here is a video demonstration of our sub-$100 VAWT.
If you want to make one yourself, here is an instructional video (about 8 minutes long).
Here is a video of it running in some gusty winds.
My daily (well I am trying to update daily now) weblog covering topics such as wind power, embedded electronics, software development, CNC Machines and some fun stuff like travel and sailing.

Looks nice, maybe not as nice as the helix vawt, but those are not really sub-$100 :)
Interesting stuff, Jeff. I've built 7 full scale S-rotor systems. Would love to chat nuts and bolts with you. Can we do that by email? Mine's brucebril@yahoo.com
please drop me a line.
I think this is a neat design but, is there anyway to use a different bearing system>? that could make the noise a little less offensive? Them lazy susans are pretty noisy. And about how much wind does it take with this system to produce @ 12v , also does it work well with fast changing wind directions?
If you could use bicycle tires instead of lazy susans it would be quieter and smoother.
Instructional videos like this makes me so proud. This vertical wind turbine is a very great invention:)
