Slide Bars and Vertical Mounts

A Slide Bar enables you to take a pair of photos for stereo viewing, of still life scenes, with a single camera. If you are new to 3D-Photography, we recommend the book  Ferwerda's World of 3D.  

The Slide Bar is attached mounted on a tripod. The Roller Block is attached to your camera, then slipped onto the Bar. A pair of photos is taken, one on the left of center, one on the right. After processing, the slides are viewed using any of the hand-held viewers or projector set-ups that will take regular 2"x2" slides or hand mounted full-frame slides.  Alternatively you can use a digital camera and view the images on a computer screen or using any of our print viewers.

We offer Slide bars in several convenient lengths: 8" (20.32 cm), 12" and 18" (40.64 cm). A special Single Vertical Mount is available to mount cameras vertically instead of horizontally.  These are all made by Jasper.

Slide Bars for Medium Format, Large SLR's and Heavy Duty Work are Now available in the following lengths: 18" - 28" - 38" with Twin Roller Blocks, Bubble Levels and End Safety Stops.

8" Slide Bar

The 8" (20.32 cm) Slide Bar is compact and fits easily into your camera bag. The roller block and bar are designed with color coded indent positioning, at center and three positions each side of center.  It is made of machined aluminum so it is quite precise.

Has standard tripod mounting hole for mounting to your tripod!

12" Slide Bar

This Slide Bar has one Roller Block and a 300 mm Scale (ruler) inset into it for easy and very precise shifting in small or large increments. A Bubble Level is also inset into the Bar. The Roller Block has a Thumb Screw Lock for smooth action. Safety Button Stops are at each end of the Bar.

Heavy Duty Slide Bars

This series of Slide Bars were designed for use with most cameras and especially for larger SLR's and Medium Format cameras.  New, now our 18 and 28 inch slide bars have scales.  This helps for precision separation in landscape hyperstereos and for lenticular imaging.

The Heavy Duty Twin Camera Slide Bars (HDSLB's) can be used with one or two Roller Blocks, for single still life or twin camera live action stereo photography. The Bar has Engraved Lines for the Block center alignment and lines 1¼" (31.75 mm) each side of the Block position, to be used as reference points to set the Adjustable Sliding Stops at your desired spacing. The Blocks and moveable Sliding Stops are removable for camera mounting. They are also equipped with soft tipped Thumb Screw Locks for steady action. A Bubble Level is inset into the Bar and the Bar is equipped with spring loaded Safety Button Stops on each end so that your camera won't accidentally roll off the Bar. The Bars also make a great focusing rail for macro photography.

The Heavy Duty Slide Bars are 18" and 28" total travel between the Safety Button Stops.  The Roller Blocks are 2" Wide x 3" long or 1.5 " to the center line of your lens.

Vertical Mounts

These are for fixing your cameras in vertical or portrait format

Fixed - Twin Vertical Mount

For twin camera vertical format stereo photography. Used with cameras which have the mounting screw hole in line with centerline of the camera lens. These brackets can be tripod mounted or used with the Interocular Bar. They can also be used in conjunction with the 18" Slide bar The flush style allows the cameras to get closer together and allows for a larger variety of cameras.  It requires the use of a hex wrench (included). Has standard tripod mounting hole for mounting to your tripod! Limited Supplies Discontinued but we have 2 left

Single Vertical Mount

If you want to take vertical format instead of the regular landscape format stereo photos, use this handy Single Vertical Mount to attach a camera to the Slide Bars above. It has a knob for easy removal of the camera in the field. Has standard tripod mounting hole for mounting to your tripod!

Adjustable - Twin Vertical Mount

These brackets have a moveable mounting screw, to compensate for the offset of the mounting screw hole from centerline of the camera's lens in some cameras. The various mounting options are the same as those for the "Fixed Mounts" as described above. Has standard tripod mounting hole for mounting to your tripod!
