Take your Own 3D Pictures With 3Dstation

How are stereoscopic photos taken?

Stereoscopic photograph is to take two pictures of the same object from slightly-separate, horizontally-even points. This mirrors the way our eyes process stereo (3D) images. If the subject is motionless, stereoscopy is possible with a single camera using the “Cha-Cha” method.

“Cha-Cha” method I: Short Distance (within 5 meters)

Stand still, take a photo of the image. Then, lean 1-2 inches to the right (keeping the camera at the same vertical angle—distance from the ground—as the first photo) and take a second picture from this slightly different perspective.

“Cha-Cha” method II: Long Distance (beyond 5 meters)
